Expected qualifications:

• Engineering degree or Master's in Chemical Engineering Processes
• Experimental competences is a must
• PhD is preferred

Technical skills:

• Affinity to experimental tests, tests of catalysts, and unit design
• Brief knowledge of PID diagrams
• General understanding of chemical processes
• Knowledge of analytical techniques (GC)

Computing skills:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• SAS JMP, VBA or Python programming is preferred but not required

Languages:

• English: level C1
• French: level C1

NB : Personal vehicle is essential

The VIE position of R&D engineer aims at validation, development, and scale-up of new electrified reactor technology applied for transformation of light alkanes into base chemicals (olefins & aromatics) and hydrogen. Being compatible with renewable energy, this "cold wall" reactor delivers heat directly to the catalyst and dissipation to the environment is minimized. Today a small-scale pilot unit construction is finished; the R&D engineer's responsibility include designing experimental study, analyzing results and interpreting them together with internal team of senior process engineers and representatives of business units, optimizing the performance in order to meet the industrial requirements for technology scale-up.

The position is ideal for recently graduated students with profile in engineering or catalysis and passion for experimental studies. Successful candidate will join Low Carbon Processes department in TotalEnergies OneTech Belgium (TOTB) R&D centrum, where (s)he will have a plenty of opportunities to learn and develop skill in diverse multinational environment.

Context & Environment

The selected candidate will receive a VIE allowance according to the Business France rates.
