JOB PURPOSE:

Mange the development and implementation of the International Gas & LNG opportunities (greenfield and M&A, emerging markets, and OECD) and monitor asset performance as well as formulating appropriate investment recommendations with the various internal and external stakeholders. Help define investment opportunities and ongoing production and asset performance as part of the Annual WP&B cycle.Manage and supervise assignments; consolidate all required inputs and present all necessary work towards achieving the identified targets while focusing on maximizing value, profitability, efficiency and sustainability of the overall lineup of ADNOC initiatives on renewable energy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Investment Evaluation & Recommendations:
  • Manage the review of business cases to support internal investment appraisals and decision making, including the strategic rationale, value proposition for ADNOC, compliance with investment policies and the structuring and execution considerations.
  • Manage and help lead the coordination with Group Strategic Investment and other teams (Legal, governance, strategy, Finance, etc.) in developing business cases and completing the required internal approvals.
  • Contribute towards a smooth and timely transition from business development initiatives that progress through Investment Committee through to Asset Management
  • Study and advise on industry trends, best practice and portfolio lessons learnt and ensure quality of appraisal for investment opportunities.

Investment Monitoring & Risk Management
  • Lead and manage the required annual budget preparation including the underlying technical, commercial and financial assumptions and monitoring progress versus plan and any deviations.
  • Review and track a set of KPIs, to monitor corporate and portfolio performance in line with the investment policy and agreed budgets.
  • Review and ensure post deal legal and commercial obligations are tracked and timely fulfilled, in accordance with the approvals. Familiar with transportation, offtake and sales agreements for upstream and midstream hydrocarbon transportation and sales, particularly gas and condensate.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of JOAs and the obligations they place on Operator's and Operating Companies to provide timely, accurate and relevant information, schedule and set JV meetings and seek approval for JV work programmes and budgets. Ensure that minutes of meetings are appropriately recorded and that an Action Tracker is in place to ensure timely close out.
  • An understanding of the requirements to set up and establish a presence in new countries working collaboratively with Legal, Finance and Human Capital to ensure ADNOC's entry into a new jurisdiction is smooth and well prepared.
  • Actively participate in Management/Operating Committee, Technical Committee and Financial (& Commercial) Committees, where appropriate.
  • Help contribute to the development of a Risk and Opportunity Register ensuring that all relevant risk and opportunities and correctly captured and Risk Owner correctly identified, and Mitigation Measures are in place.

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective department objectives.
Budgets
  • Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver department objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Implement approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
  • Comply with the proposed Asset Management Operating Guidelines.
Performance Management
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and Company Code of Practices.
Reports
  • Provide inputs to prepare Department MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
  • Ensure all documentation and data relevant to the Assets are stored and transferred to the common file.data structure established for the Asset. Diligently ensure and encourage others within and outwith the core team to follow this approach.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal
  • Regular contact with VP Asset Management (International Gas & LNG) and Asset Managers
  • Manager, Asset Management - GAM
  • Manager, Legal and Manager, Finance & Treasury

External
  • External counterparts in JV companies, National Oil Company representatives, Ministry of Energy and possibly Finance
  • Consultants and service providers
  • An ability and willingness to travel overseas, away from primary location, sometimes at short notice for JV meetings or business purposes including relevant conferences or symposiums.
6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Economics, Finance, Business or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in managing energy investments in the upstream, midstream or downstream with direct experience in Joint Venture or Joint Operating Companies. With a strong preference across a range of different jurisdictions.
  • Extensive investment experience including reviewing and understanding financial models and their associated inputs, valuations, project documentation structures
  • Ensure proper communication and alignment among ADNOC stakeholders both internal and external
  • Ability to track and maintain compliance with the investment governance framework and processes.
