Payroll Assistant

Do you enjoy ensuring accurate payroll processing?

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Assistant to join our client's team. In this one-year contract role, you will be responsible for compiling and entering daily hourly payroll data, maintaining accurate records, and resolving discrepancies. You will also collaborate with the payroll department at their Lima, Ohio refinery and ensure pay is provided accurately under the terms of applicable labor agreements.

Responsibilities:
  • Process hourly payroll using ADP software.
  • Collect, calculate, and enter payroll data into ADP and local spreadsheets.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of payroll information.
  • Maintain employee confidentiality and protect payroll operations.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies through data analysis.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests and participate in special projects.
  • Provide backup support to other HR departments, such as Scheduling and Recruiting.
  • Uphold the Company's safety culture and standards.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned.


Deliverables:
  • Prepare and distribute timesheet procedures for new hires.
  • Generate reports, statements, and forms for internal and external inquiries, reporting, compliance, and audits.


Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resourcefulness and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years' experience administering payroll in a union environment.
  • Previous experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Experience with SAP or other business enterprise software.
  • Experience with ADP or similar payroll software.
