The successful candidate will report to the Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom Discipline Manager and be assigned to various projects associated with the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals industry as directed by the Project Management group.

About the job:
The successful candidate will report to the Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom Discipline Manager and be assigned to various projects associated with the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals industry as directed by the Project Management group.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Uses knowledge of the general concepts of relevant electrical engineering elements including the design of power systems and substations
- Assists the lead and team members in preparing Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom drawings and documents. Conducts basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Good writing skills to produce reports, scope documents and presentation materials.
- Attending project team meetings, Client meetings and vendor review meetings
- Establishing a good working relationship with the Clients and representing the company professionally when dealing with any 3 rd parties.
- Performing field visits to validate existing drawings and confirm tie-in locations.
- Demonstrate a high regard for safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures.
- Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications/Skills Requirements:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
- Registered as an EIT (Engineer in Training) in Canada
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) will be an asset.
- Experience with Software such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, and MicroStation will be an asset.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Leadership skills, team player, Proven multi-tasker with strong organizational skills.
