Job Purpose
Ensures all elements of NFW engineering requirements areachieved & available in terms of requirements, specification, bestpractices, resources and responsible to provide functional guidance to PMT asnecessary. This role will also be responsible to lead all engineeringactivities for MP studies executed by the technical team.
Key JobAccountabilities
Providesengineering leadership and expertise to Project Management Team (PMT) to ensurealignment on project engineering needs, objectives, and requirements.
Manageengineering studies by working with the right SMEs to properly define thescope, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and to also identify the rightcontractors for performing such studies. This also entails identification ofnecessary resources to manage these studies and providing necessary support tomanagement to manage approvals as necessary.
Assessesengineering contractor capability with respect to compliance with QatarEnergypolicies for prevention of information brokering, business standardsguidelines, engineering and design procedures, processes, and deliverables,staffing plans, personnel suitability and adequacy, ensuring PMT or othertechnical support is available to address gaps.
Providefunctional support to PMTs in all engineering matters including deployment ofbest practices and guidelines that would assist PMTs in avoiding scope creepand also meet the engineering quality standards.
Responsiblefor maintaining technical alignment with QatarEnergy Operations, SHEQ, E&Pand other pertinent department within corporate QatarEnergy. Takes initiativeand assumes responisibilities in resolving and technical issues that may arisedue to Operations requirements.
Responsiblefor previous lessons learned knowledge and capturing and communicating designlessons learned & best practices to the PMTs.
This roleis expected to lead and participate in key technical reviews to ensureengineering activities are well optimised to achieve intended value.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors' degree in an Engineering discipline
15 years'experience preferably within the Oil & Gas industry, of which 10 years'operating at a senior project engineering management level with overallresponsibility for engineering execution.
Broad andextensive knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, codes andappropriate safety criteria.
Broadknowledge of offshore and onshore facilities design, construction andoperations, with an in-depth knowledge of one or more of the followingengineering areas: material & corrosion, piping or mechanical engineering.
Broadknowledge of engineering administration.
