Responsibilities

JOB SCOPE:

Based out of our Lloydminster, SK facility, The Journeyperson Electrician provides testing, repairs, and routine servicing on equipment in the shop and the field

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for installation, commissioning, and service of Company products in the field including VSD, RPC, POC, pump panels, time clocks and motor controllers
  • Oversee the electrical installation field component, and ensure that projects are in compliance with national, state, and local codes.
  • Responsible for interpreting line drawings, product literature.
  • Successfully plan, permit, schedule, and execute the installation of the projects and maintain the proper company documents for each project.
  • Responsible for installation, commissioning, and service of Companys specialty VFD products, Rod Pump Controllers, and general oilfield electrical equipment
  • Represent as a field contact for the customer, interacts with the customer with integrity, and with a professional appearance and attitude - develop and maintain customer relations.
  • Promote the merits of our Products and Company and sell additional equipment based on knowledge of customer needs as well as find out information regarding our competition that will be useful to the Company.
  • Relay to Manager or appropriate sales personnel field intelligence and needs of the customer.
  • Maintain log charts to document electrical repairs
  • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Any training related to general electrical, and electronics will be of value
  • Basic interpersonal skills and negotiating
  • Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work flexible work schedule, including long and/or irregular hours including on call availability.
  • Available 24/7 to meet demands of customers for installation as well as support if needed
  • 1 - 2 years relevant experience in Communications, Automation, Electronics, and/or Controls
  • The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record

PREFERRED:
  • Customer Service/Communication Skills
  • Prior experience reading schematics and wiring diagrams
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Technical school or on the job technical training in advanced electronics for oil and gas production automation.
  • 0-2+ years working knowledge of Oilfield electronic control products regarding installation, set-up, and use.
  • Prior Instrumentation experience
  • Electrical certification Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician
