As a Plant Metallurgist for Brunel's market-leading mining client, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of metallurgical processes within the plant.

This is a FIFO based role working on an 8:6 roster

Responsibilities:
•Process Optimization: Analysing metallurgical processes to identify areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
•Quality Control: Monitoring and controlling the quality of ore processing, ensuring that metallurgical specifications are met and maintaining high standards of product quality.
•Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues related to metallurgical processes, equipment performance, and product quality deviations.
•Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data from plant operations to track performance indicators, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions for process improvement.
•Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that all metallurgical operations comply with safety regulations and environmental standards and implementing measures to mitigate risks to personnel and the environment.
•Communication and Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams including mining engineers, geologists, and maintenance personnel to optimize overall plant performance and achieve production targets.
•Training and Development: Providing training and guidance to plant operators and technicians to enhance their understanding of metallurgical processes and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements:

•A bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field is typically required.

•A strong understanding of metallurgical principles and processes is essential. This includes knowledge of mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, extraction processes, and refining techniques.

•The ability to analyse complex data, interpret results, and identify trends is crucial for optimizing plant performance and troubleshooting issues. Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical tools may be beneficial.

•A commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. Plant Metallurgists must ensure that all operations comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
