About You

Key Requirements:

• Some relevant laboratory experience is preferred, but not essential, full training will be provided.
• Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills to work as part of a team and alone.
• Motivated to learn and develop their skills.
• Basic IT literacy skills.

About The Opportunity

• The Laboratory Technician will provide a support service to all technical staff across the areas of lab support, processing of samples and equipment management support. All tasks will be performed in accordance with Intertek Melbourn procedures and the principles of GMP.
• This is an entry level role, therefore, we would love to hear from you whether you have some or none experience within a laboratory. Full training will be given. Higher education is not needed for this role.

Key activities:

• Ensure that a clean supply of glassware is available for lab use. Follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for a variety of cleaning/drying methods.
• Maintain good housekeeping within all areas of the Laboratory.
• Process incoming samples in line with SOP.
• Carry out stock checks of lab and consumables and raise orders to replenish stock.
• Receive consumable orders into the building, ensuring they have been processed on the ordering spreadsheet and delivered to lab user.
• Maintain good housekeeping within Goods-In and Goods-Out, ensuring effective stock rotation and disposal of expired consumables and reagents.
• Carry out routine maintenance and perform checks on glass washers and purified water systems.
