Compressor Design Analyst
Position: Mechanical Design Engineer - Compressor

Job type: Contract - 18 Months

Location: Remote, USA

Petroplan is currently working with a leader in gas power technology who are in the process of increasing their engineering team within Compressor module design.

In this position, you will be involved with ensuring that all activities are planned, scheduled and executed to achieve the agreed requirements in a safe and efficient manner. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Running structural, modal or forced response analysis (with thermal and mechanical loads)
  • Component Lifiing (LCF, HCF, creep, Fracture)
  • Post Processing: joint behaviour, stress and strength
  • Supporting of component owner of hardware to be designed or modified.
  • Work with drafting, sourcing & manufacturing
  • Coordinate interfaces across Aero, Heat Transfer, Systems, Manufacturing and Materials into the Design Teams

Experienced Required
  • Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • Knowledge and working acumen of Unigraphics & Ansys Workbench
  • Understanding of mechanical design methods of gas turbine systems
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Customer satisfaction mindset, ability to work in matrix-team environment, problem solver attitude.
  • At least 4 years of engineering design experience in gas turbine engines


Suitable candidates will be a driven, autonomous, self-motivated safety professional who is passionate and hungry to succeed.

This role is able to be 100% remote, working a 40-hour week, however the client is currently unable to sponsor any work VISA.
