Key Requirements:
  • Higher National Certificate in a related subject and/or experience working in an UKAS accredited laboratory
  • Exceptional communication skills to lead, motivate and develop the section
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels in a professional manner at all times
  • Willing to be "hands-on" working at all levels
  • A positive attitude
  • Good problem-identification and solving skills
  • Proficient in computer programs such as MS Office
  • Awareness of business and client requirements and expectations


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Calibration Technician. You will carry out calibration in some or all of the following disciplines: Pressure, Temperature, Electrical, Density and mechanical Calibration.

Key activities:
  • Ensure that the daily workload of the laboratory is performed efficiently and effectively within agreed turnaround times, in accordance with both approved technical standards and client instructions as well as our Intertek Total Quality standards
  • Assist team members to ensure consistent performance
  • Assist with the training of team members in relation to jobs to be undertaken and any job-related software
  • Assist any team member in troubleshooting equipment problems
  • Check and approve certification and calculations produced by any team member
  • Assist the Technical Manager in updating calibration procedures and uncertainty budgets
  • Compile, report and take action based on the team KPIs, feeding back areas of success and improvement to the management team
  • Actively seek opportunities to upsell to customers including the development of new calibration techniques, parameters
