Aker Solutions’ New Build segment delivers oil & gas and renewables offshore developments and fabrication products, mainly focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and selective international markets. The segment is responsible for large EPCI projects, both within oil and gas and renewables, including business development and project execution, typically large topsides including fixed or floating substructures, onshore facilities, FPSOs offshore wind HVDC topside and jackets, offshore aquaculture floaters and decommissioning and recycling.
 
Aker Solutions is now looking for a Marine Engineer - Analyses and Calculations with experience from onshore or offshore projects. The project is lead from Stord.
 
 
Position Responsibilities:

• Perform design of permanent and temporary structures.
• Decide on solutions that satisfy the intended function and specification.
• Optimize the structures with regards to capacity, weight, fabrication friendly design and cost.
• Perform analysis and calculations of permanent and temporary structures and marine operations.
• Calculations according to prevailing codes and HSE requirements.
• Prepare the documentation and manuals necessary for the planning and execution of marine operations.
• Prepare methods for transport and lifting of heavy units.
• Participate in construction meetings and assist construction through marine operations.
• Make sure that the design, analysis and calculations are performed prior to Fabrication drawings.
• Use available materials in store in order to optimize the storage and purchasing process.
• Act as point of contact towards subcontractors/ construction for marine operations.
• Technical support to Engineering and construction.
• Establish and update technical register and mapping structure.

Skills and Levels Description:

• Theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of structural analysis and calculation.
• Good common knowledge towards external parties in marine operations and other disciplines.
• Higher university degree.
• Solid understanding of industry standards and regulations.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Software Skills: Staad-Pro, Sesam, StruProg, Mathcad.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office.
• Solid command of the English language, both written and spoken.
