Their New Build segment is responsible for delivering major energy projects for the oil & gas and renewable markets. The segment includes all phases of a project, and specializes on delivering complete solutions that include engineering, procurement, construction and installation. 

We are currently looking for Senior Adviser - Project Controls to support offshore wind HVDC EPCI projects in the Chiswick office, UK.

What will you be doing?

  • Application of Code of Accounts (CoA set up in costing software, split out project estimates, allocate invoicing and all cost data etc.) according to specific contract terms
  • Provide an accurate and timely cost reporting service according to contract reporting periods and review with project management; compile project trends to provide critical analysis and forecasting
  • Identify, reconcile and explain variances against budget / forecast across departments and Cost Breakdown Structure, to identify and recommend means of improved cost performance
  • Calculate commercial aspects of variation order estimates and maintenance of a variation order log
  • Maintain the project resource management tool; update the project forecast according to MPP, changes and trending as well as managing and documenting the change to monthly submission
  • Understand and perform the interfaces between financial and cost systems (i.e. SAP, SAREPTA, MPP) and other project control systems (i.e. Primavera / Safran, Document Scheduler, CCS, ARM)
  • Provide ad hoc reporting for discipline leads and project management and respond effectively to Client requests
  • Perform client invoicing functions including but not limited to creating, reviewing and submitting of invoices
  • Maintain cash flow forecast and knowledge of the status and direction of the project; communicate effectively with senior management on all project status issues
  • Close out and final reporting of the project including the compilation of the Project history and benchmarking

We think you should have:

  • Relevant experience, to include FEED and EP phases of a project
  • Working knowledge of engineering design contracts, accounting principles as well as procurement policies & terminology
  • Thorough understanding of project controls terminology
  • Advanced competency in use of Excel (including charts, graphs and data manipulation) and competent use of other standard MS Office products
  • Prior use of SAP advantageous
  • Undergraduate degree and QCF level 3 (or similar evidence of basic competency) preferred
  • Good level of numeracy with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self starter who can work alone or as member of a team.
