The opportunity
Project: To work with a number of retail clients in regards to refurbishment and upgrades to property.
Due to our continued growth, we require a project manager who will be engaged in the delivery of multiple fast-paced property investments programmes for major retail clients.
Over the past decade we have successfully delivered more than 8,000 retail projects and provided a unique, joined-up approach for construction-related projects.
You will join our team of UK wide project managers, delivering several different investment types including, new store fit outs, extensions, refurbishments, planned asset renewals and initiative roll outs. You will have sole responsibility for the delivery of circa 20 projects per year, ranging in value from £100k - £2m each. Reporting into the Mace account/programme lead, you will deliver projects for multiple retail clients within a geographic area, ideally centred to your home location, however some UK wide travel should be expected.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing of outline and development briefs.
Preparing and delivering the reports including feasibility and project progress reports.
Preparing the project execution plan (PEP) and project initiation document (PID).
Developing, assessing, interpreting and ongoing management of programmes.
Preparing risk registers and management of the mitigation/management strategy.
Coordinating the procurement of consultant, contractors and equipment services.
Managing of the design process and monitoring against the project team’s deliverables.
Managing the change control processes.
Monitoring and reporting on budgets, cash flow and profitability.
Constructing and projecting closeout including client sign off and facilitating lessons learnt workshops.
Providing line management of assistant managers, graduates and apprentices.
About you
You have a degree qualification in related field or equivalent. If you have professional memberships of RICS, CIOB, APM or equivalent professional institution Mace can support you with the subscribtion fees as part of our benefits package (subject to contract).
You have experience of working in a similar project management role within the retail sector. Clear experience of successful delivery of multiple fit-out projects to a high standard, on schedule and within budget. Good experience of contract administration and using various forms of contract.
