Kier are currently recruiting for an Quantity Surveyor to join us

  

Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods. 

    

We need an experienced Quantity Surveyor to carry out financial control of provider works, including value engineering, estimating, negotiating prices, identifying and agreeing the value of additional works, interim valuations, final accounts.

 

Tasks/Responsibilities as follows:

  • The financial control of provider works;
  • Identification & control of commercial risk and opportunity from inception to completion;
  • The provision of accurate measurements advice and assistance;
  • The accurate measurement, cost control and settlement of final accounts
  • Providing guidance to less experienced members of the team.

Typical Skills/Experience as follows:

  •  Financial control of works to comply with client’s specifications and contract;
  • The management of commercial risk;
  • Prompt identification and evaluation of additional works;
  • Producing robust estimates;
  • Selection, evaluation and procurement of supply chain;
  • Settlement of final accounts;
  • Negotiate target prices with supply chain
  • Provide cost advice to facilitate the value management of individual schemes;
  • Comply with the Integrated Management System;
  • Comply with relevant health and safety legislation.
