To lead the definition of a major project’s policy and strategy for risk including oversight of the day to day management, staffing and the development and implementation of required risk standards and processes.
Manages and participates in the preparation and presentation of project estimates and forecasts and the identification and management of risks and opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Formulating risk strategy, policy and framework for the major project that includes an implementation model to support the effective delivery of the risk management service across the project.
Ensuring that the projects agreed approach to risk management is delivered consistently across the project and that special focus on the identification and exploitation of opportunities is maintained.
Ensuring that the project’s approach to risk management is continually informed by emerging ‘best practice’ methodology from other major infrastructure projects.
Serving as ‘chief evangelist’ for good risk management practice and take active steps to ensure that positive risk culture is embedded across the project functions.
Providing technical and operational management to the project risk management team of risk coordinators.
Preparing, updating and running cost and schedule risk models for the overall project to inform reported positions on the anticipated overall project outcome.
Demonstrating a clear understanding of project-wide risk exposure.
Elevating the significant risk information to the project control and commercial director as appropriate. Providing advice, guidance and contribution to the risk-based decision-making process.
You have a degree in engineering, quantity surveying or construction management and with risk certification such as IRM or APM. You have experience in developing estimates and budgets for major infrastructure programmes. You have a technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction methods and techniques. You have knowledge of current risk/opportunities management practices.
You are digitally savvy and a proficient user of the MS Office suite. You have extensive skill and experience in presenting complex information to senior executives/shareholders and can lead strong, motivated teams. You have experience in risk function on major infrastructure projects in a consultancy background within the PMO services and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
