The opportunity

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking CAD operator to join our established and growing team in UAE.

The CAD operator, also known as a drafter, the role will be using computer-aided design or CAD systems to make drawings and blueprints which can be used in building designs, machinery designs, landscape designs and anything else that requires a design prior to being constructed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding the equations, calculations and written instructions from designers and engineers before beginning a CAD drawing.

  • Using special notations and symbols to give instructions on drawings and blueprints.

  • Drawing plans for structural foundations and other construction projects.

  • Using manual drawing skills for plans that cannot be computer-generated.

  • Drawing layout of the room and building interiors.

  • Revising drawings based on instructions from engineers or architects.

  • Determining the impact of site requirements and building codes before doing drawings or blueprints.

  • Visiting building sites to collect data for drawings.

  • Consulting with clients to understand their instructions and to answer their questions.

  • Monitoring compliance with building codes throughout the construction process.

  • Reviewing engineering data to ensure compliance with the original design plans.

  • Modifying existing drawings.

  • Drawing illustrations of mechanical systems for manuals.

  • Meeting all deadlines.

  • Storing drawings electronically for later use.

  • Programming drawings into manufacturing systems.

About you

With a relevant degree qualification, you will take personal development seriously and be chartered or pursuing a similar level of professional qualification.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams. You must have experience of programme or project management equating quality and value with the individual client and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
