About the roleThe Head of Operations is responsible for leading and developing the team of three Operational Managers to deliver a high level of customer service excellence and operational performance across all our workstreams (PE, Metering & First Response and Transmission) across the BBCLG contract with Gas Networks Ireland (GNI). Reporting directly to the Head of Contract as an integral part of the senior management team, the Head of Operations will work closely with all other members of the senior management team.
As Head of Operations your time will be split between site and office, enabling you to provide direct support, engagement and performance management as a team and on a one-to-one basis. You will support in coordination of the internal structure; leading with a focus on company policies and procedures, goals and objectives to ensure an efficient (and improved) working environment, where we can delivery on our commitments, to budget and with deadlines met consistently.
You will provide strategic leadership and direction for the business to achieve its short- and long-term goals - developing, challenging and scrutinising company initiatives ensuring customer and stakeholder satisfaction.
What you'll be doingKey Responsibilities:
AccSet up the strategic direction of the operational department.
AccEnsure all work is carried out in accordance with national standards, international standards, GNIs OPM and leak management procedures, company safety rules, health and safety legislation and quality and environmental standards.
AccSet up and monitor the department budget to ensure high quality delivery against business targets.
AccEnsure KPI targets are met.
AccUnderstand and meet GNIs requirements, obtaining feedback and resolving issues appropriately.
AccUnderstand the risk framework to identify potential risks and opportunities.
AccManage resources to increase sales values and profit margins and reduce operating costs
AccKeep up-to-date with industry developments and raise awareness of company profile
AccDrive sales activities on the GNI Contract.
AccDevelop effective working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to optimise operational performance.
AccWork closely with HSEQ Manager to drive safety performance.
