Mace is a major international construction company. You will be part of the data protection/GDPR team that sits within the Mace legal team. The purpose of your role is to promote data protection and GDPR compliance across Mace and to support the data protection/GDPR lead for Mace.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as a point of contact for data protection queries and requests from data subjects, supervisory authorities and internal business units.
Providing data protection advice and support to projects, business units and data subjects.
Carrying out legal reviews of data protection provisions in contracts, DPAs and bid documents and report back to solicitors and project teams.
Providing support, guidance and training to the Mace legal team.
Rolling out and managing the 2020/21 Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) exercise across Mace. This is a key requirement of Data Protection Legislation.
Co-managing data subject rights requests (with data protection lead), including SARs and RTBF, in accordance with Data Protection Legislation.
Assisting with the development of a revised GDPR e-learning module to be launched in 2021.
Carrying out training on data protection issues to the business, including bespoke workshops and webinars
Carrying out legal research and create data protection content for Infomace and internal social media platforms.
Managing ICO registration/certification process.
Liaising with external data protection lawyers.
Supporting data protection lead with key incidents, including data breaches.
Supporting data protection lead to achieving 2021/22 strategic objectives.
You have data protection qualifications e.g. CIPP/E CIPM. You have knowledge of data protection law and the GDPR. You have technical knowledge of IT systems, information security and IT contracts. You have previous experience in data protection, legal compliance role, or qualified legal professional. You have project/client management experience. You have the ability to work as part of a team (you will work predominantly as part of a small data protection team but this forms part of a much larger in-house legal and Group Services team).
You have good IT skills (particularly Adobe). You have experience in strategic responsibilities for delivering data protection objectives and contributing towards a wider Mace business plan. You have enhanced knowledge of data protection, construction, commercial and employment law with the opportunity to work towards European data protection practitioner qualification.
