TOP 3 MUST HAVES:
1. Health and Safety degree or comparable experience
2. CUSP certification (Certified Utility Safety Professional) or willingness to obtain one is preferred
3. 5-10 years experience in H&S field
4. OSHA certifications (30/500/10)
5. Electrical contracting experience with either a power plant based or electrical utility contractor (transmission, distribution, generation of power).
Our client is looking to add to their safety team by adding a safety manager. The safety manager will be tied to one project at a time (sometimes two depending on scope, location and size). They are responsible for the following:
-conduct safety training and monitoring construction crews on site
-address and enforce company and industry safety policies and procedures
-conduct and document employee safety orientations for all new and re-hired employees
-Ensure compliance with CFR, OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, FMCSA, DOT requirements
-conduct safety audits and inspections
-conduct weekly safety meetings and prepare weekly safety reports
-Coordinate drug and alcohol screenings for random and post accident testing
