Job description

Senior Quantity Surveyor - New Build Housing - Developer - Cheshire -
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you must be able to demonstrate excellent report writing, a strong understanding of Quantity Surveying within the house building industry and a keen Commercial awareness.
Managing build costs, cash flows and budget financial information as per Group policies and processes.
Ensuring group policies and processes are followed and reported fully on all build-related expenditure.
Management of the working partnerships with Housing Associations, third party providers and sub-contractors to ensure that all contractual terms are met and ensure that all orders are placed, managed and settled in alignment with the policies and companies processes.
A key part of determining and agreeing site start programmes and timescales.
Assisting in the production of MI and estimates in relation to Land Appraisals.
Authorising and committing expenditure on the internal system(s)
Producing key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the Commercial function.
As well as being able to demonstrate your experience within the Quantity Surveying field, you must also possess an aptitude to combine strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of staff and stakeholders, whilst also maintaining a keen desire to work in a quality driven business.

Candidate requirements
Experienced residential Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Proven track record working for a housing developer
A relevant construction related degree (Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying)
Commitment, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic
Team player capable of a flexible approach
A full UK driving licence
In depth knowledge and experience within the Quantity Surveying field ideally with a key focus on new homes
Ability to clearly articulate project needs on a scheme by scheme basis
Experience of residential projects from inception to completion
A good understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build.
Good Finance / Commercial awareness & Technical knowledge
Strong IT capabilities including working experience of Microsoft Office
In-depth knowledge of the Construction Industry
Good Knowledge of commercial and financial management systems and controls
Good awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters
Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations
Energetic & self-motivated
