Position: Quantity Surveyor Location: Eccles, Manchester Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: £Competitive Salary + company car Role: They have a full-time vacancy for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for contractual and measurement matters, managing records and maximising income recovery within their lanes Sewer Renovation division based in Eccles. Responsibilities: • Efficiently manage all commercial aspects of the Contract and maintain regular liaison and communication with the Division Manager and Contracts Manager • Preparation of Cost / Value Reports on a weekly and monthly basis to satisfy the requirements of the Group Commercial Manager and any other reports which maybe required • Ensure that all Valuations / Applications / Cost Reports / Final Accounts, etc., are submit ted to the Client in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with the relevant contract stipulations • Ensure the rigorous management of contract notifications including variations, claims etc. • Identify and manage Contract commercial risks and opportunities • Encourage and develop a culture of contractual awareness and ensure that the full contractual entitlement is achieved by rigidly managing records, contractual notifications, change control, etc. About you: The successful applicant will be personable, numerically adept, commercially astute with good attention to detail and will have a persistent personality. Critically, they must be able to take hold of a task and see it through to the end, often in pressurised circumstances at short notice with minimal supervision. The role will suit a graduate QS with experience (whether practical or through a degree) and ideally from within a Utilities contracting background. Candidates who are studying for a high level qualification in a similar or related field will be considered as the underlying personal qualities, ambition, attitude to hard work and numerical and IT aptitude will carry significant weighting in this recruitment exercise.
