Electrical Quantity Surveyor.
I am currently recruiting for an Electrical Quantity Surveyor with significant experience in a commercial role to join a busy, established Commercial team. The chosen Electrical Quantity Surveyor will assist in growing the business and commercially managing a portfolio of diverse projects. All applicants must have an Electrical or M&E background with new build residential experience. Although main contracting Quantity Surveyors who have looked after large Electrical packages may be suitable. As an Electrical Quantity Surveyor you will lead on pre-contract activities supporting the operational teams in identifying opportunities and bidding/tendering for new works, build detailed quantity estimates, offer commercial expertise and guidance whilst demonstrating excellent negotiation and customer skills. This diverse role will enable you to develop wide business skills, including project controls, marketing, contract tendering as well as an opportunity to work with very experienced commercial and engineering subject matter experts.
Experience: Running multiple projects up to £2-£5M.
Work with the M&E project teams to formulate commercial plans, that identify necessary activities that protect the company from risks, and enhance the profitability of contracts.
Have responsibility for the commercial performance of the project ensuring that the Electrical & Mechanical team successfully achieve the defined objectives and reach their full potential.
Seek out market information and intelligence
Hold regular interface meetings with existing and potential new customers
Deliver presentations to customers of our services
Contribute to the development of new and innovative products and services
Take the lead on providing responses to pre-qualification invitations and invitations to tender for contracts up to £18M
Build detailed quantity estimates in close collaboration with operational staff
Liaise with the Commercial and Legal team in agreement contract terms
Track works during delivery supporting operational staff in estimating and negotiating change
Provide financial forecasts and project reporting
Support operational staff in delivering financial targets
Undertake commercial assurance checks to ensure business controls are being followed
Knowledge & Experience Required:
Demonstrate commercial technical knowledge and experience of working within a contracting environment gained from the Construction and Energy.
An extensive track record in an equivalent Commercial role
Excellent negotiation and customer management skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
High degree of commercial and financial acumen required
Proven track record of working in and contributing to high performance teams
