Senior Planner (Civils)
Senior planner require for a main contractor in the North West. Their experience covers the design, construction and commissioning of infrastructure including highways, flood defence, main line and mass transit networks. Services range from project management and engineering, consultancy and design. They now require a high calibre senior planner to join their civil planning team.
The Senior Planner will:
Report to the planning manager you will be responsible for the tender and project planning.
Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with customers, project team, partners and bid teams.
Ensure that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidance.
Identify planning scope, major constraints and contract requirements
Identify major quantities and factors affecting the programme
Establish and agree with Operations construction outputs and agreeing working hours with appropriate Estimator
Negotiate with the operations and bid team on key methods of construction, sequencing, installation and commissioning
Interface with third parties to identify and resolve issues
Ensure that all other project planning and programming necessary for the execution of the contract is properly undertaken
Provide support, as required to the BIM Co-ordinators to meet the project requirements or tender submission deliverables
You will have:
Considerable experience of planning services within large complex environments within the engineering and construction industry
Strong experience in the use of planning techniques and the required planning toolsets
Good understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications.
Experience of the various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring.
Good understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning/programming.
Underpinning knowledge of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, and equipment and labour requirements.
Relevant CSCS Card.
Ideally have a related Higher Education and be a member of professional institution.
