ABOUT THE JOB

Manage the end-to-end product with respect to product specifications, quality, performance, profitability and customer expectations to achieve the desired targets in the respective applications

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Balance product specifications with production efficiency to meet product quality and profitability
  • Manage the Internal Product Specifications (IPS) to meet the customers' technical requirements while maintaining production efficiency.
  • Optimize raw material selection and manage Raw Material Specifications (RMS) to continually upgrade the product performance.
  • Approve the technical use of new raw material in the product recipe to achieve quality improvement objectives
  • Work with production to optimize cycle and define the specifications of transition products to achieve overall reduction in rejected and downgraded products.
  • Advise and consult on the specifications of newly developed products in coordination with the innovation centre to ensure that the products are meeting the technical requirements, quality, and cost.
Review product performance and quality control measures to ensure quality consistency and improvements
  • Measure, review and analyze the product performance and statistical trends during the product review meetings, to ensure the product' quality consistency.
  • Investigate and analyze product-quality related customer complaints and recommend the corresponding preventative actions.
  • Drive new quality control measures to improve the quality control processes; i.e. testing, sampling, parameters, and tools.
Approve batch classification and wavering to meet customers' needs
  • Decide on final batch classification as per classification procedure guidelines
  • Approve batch wavering as per classification procedure guidelines
  • Downgrade products/batches to non-prime if they are not able to meet customer needs.
  • Approve the allocation of test run materials to customers based on agreement with sales, marketing and technical services.
  • Following a customer complaint, reclassify the relevant product batches in storage to ensure that the affected batches are not inadvertently dispatched to the regular customers.
  • Downgrade defective batches to non-prime if deemed unsuitable for sales to other customers.
  • Decide on replacing the defective batches following justified customer complaints to lower any negative impact on customer.
  • Identify the product classification for each customer, based on the customer's accepted quality standards, and to ensure smooth material movements from our warehouses and hubs.
  • Manage the customers' related documentation (i.e. TDS, COA, specifications, guarantees, and agreements) to ensure availability of information.
Manage customers' complaints regarding product quality to achieve customers' satisfaction
  • Investigate all customer complaints related to product quality to ensure timely response to the customers.
  • Initiate and assign appropriate laboratory analysis and testing on the complaint batches in order to determine accurate causes.
  • Recommends technical justification of customer complaints based on thorough analysis
  • Recommend and approve the complaint conclusions and preventative actions to ensure same complaint is not repeated. Thus improving customer satisfaction and maintaining the desired relationships.
Decide on product recipes and collaborate with internal functions to maximise overall product profitability
  • Optimize the product recipes to maximize product overall profitability.
  • Investigate, select and approve new raw materials and material suppliers to drive down raw materials costs
  • Work with Innovation Centre, Application Development Team and Operations in the development of new products through the production process.
  • Coordinate with Innovation Centre and Operations for test runs for new product development activities.
  • Consult and advise on the operational process to reduce the transition products, i.e. using appropriate process parameters and utilization of trimming rules to reduce overall transition volumes.
  • Consult and advise on asset utilization decisions, by product management team, to ensure technical-commercial alignment.
Lead engagement between customers, production and marketing teams to fulfil the quality, performance and expectations of the products
  • Demonstrates leadership in customer and Borouge operations engagement.
  • Planning and execution without supervision.
  • Strong implementer of change activities.
  • Coach junior Product Owners
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • BSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent science / engineering degree.
  • Preferably, MSc degree in Polymer Chemistry / Technology / Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience within the wire and cable industry is a necessity.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in polyolefins material production industry.
  • Fluency in English

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Extensive knowledge of plastic markets and applications
  • Extensive knowledge of polymer technologies, catalysts, and additives
  • Extensive knowledge of plastics processing, testing and analytical techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of polymer production facilities
  • Basic commercial understanding and interest in business value
  • Knowledge in operating computer; Microsoft Office, Windows and Internet Explorer
